Meet The Ostranders.

At 31-and-a-half weeks into her pregnancy, Kara was visiting the hospital for ultrasounds and non-stress tests 3 to 4 times a week. On July 25th, Kara was admitted for the duration of her term because one of the babies oxygen levels wasn't very good.

The triplets were born on July 26, 2011, 33 weeks and 1 day in gestation. Michael was home getting their older son, Grady ready for daycare when the call came that his babies were born. Each premmie was assigned her own medical team - all had minor issues. There was a concern about Ryleigh because of her size (2lbs. 9oz.), she came out screaming and was the only one of the triplets who did not require and oxygen mask.

Annually, approximately 800 premature, sick and critically ill babies are admitted to the NICU each year. 96% of babies who are admitted and receive treatment in the NICU survive and flourish in childhood.
