The Colonie Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place Sunday, Jan. 5 at 10:38 p.m. at the Sunoco Xtra Mart, 616 Broadway. Two suspects entered the business, armed with black handguns, and demanded the clerk hand over cash and cigarettes, police said.

The suspects ran off with approximately $450 cash and several cartons of cigarettes and no shots were fired, police added in a statement. Police say they may have gotten into a white sport utility vehicle driven by a third suspect.

Police are still trying to see if they are linked to similar armed robberies that took place Sunday night in both Troy and Albany.

Suspect Descriptions:

Suspect 1: male, unknown race (possibly white), 6’ tall, black bandana covering his face, black pants, black shoes and a grey hooded sweatshirt – armed with a black handgun

Suspect 2: male, unknown race, shorter than suspect 1, black ski mask, black pants, black sneakers and black hooded sweatshirt – armed with a black handgun

Suspect 3: (driver), male, unknown race, driving white sport utility vehicle
