Gov. Cuomo Pushes Campaign Finance Reform

Posted June 11th, 2013 @ 2:23pm

Another push to clean up Albany after a series of arrests of state lawmakers earlier this session.

Governor Cuomo is touting the "Public Trust Act," and he says all of New York's district attorneys are on board.

Cuomo says the bills would ease the burden of proof in bribery cases and give the State Board of Elections the power to conduct corruption investigations. Cuomo also wants campaigns to be publicly financed, and strict limits on how campaign contributions can be spent. There are virtually no limits now.
