The New York State Police have arrested a Bolton woman for neglecting to provide proper care for her horses.

Ellen Cantrell, 48, of Brookside Parkway in Bolton Landing, was charged on January 7 with Failing to Provide Proper Food and Drink to an Impounded Animal under the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law. The investigation stems from complaints filed by local Animal Control Officers.

Cantrell was arraigned at the town of Chester court and was released on $2,500 bail.
