A Dutch scholar is in Albany scouring local history archives for a copy of a black-and-white film The Netherlands produced to thank the upstate city for its help after World War II.

Anja Adriaans of Nijmegan is on a mission to find a copy of ``This is Nijmegan,'' a short film that was shown in Albany movie theaters in 1950.

The Netherlands produced the film after the people of Albany donated 300 tons of supplies to Nijmegan in 1947 to help it recover from the devastation caused during the war, when Allied troops and German forces battled for control of a bridge in the city.

Adriaans wants to find the film so she can use it to teach young people in Nijmegan about their city's history.
