On Friday, January 17, a jury of 10 women and two men didn’t take long to find Robert Williams of Albany guilty murder for the fatal stabbing of his wife Sharene Wallace, prosecutors said. Her body was found in a bedroom closet of her Sherman Street apartment in Albany in May, 2013.
Williams, 41, was found guilty of Murder (2nd Degree, a Class A-I Felony), before the Honorable Andrew Ceresia in Albany County Supreme Court. Williams remains in custody at the Albany County jail and faces up to 25 years to life in State Prison on March 7.
The defense argued that since Williams was off his medication, he was drunk and suspicious that Wallace might be cheating on him. Chief Assistant District Attorney David Rossi and Assistant District Attorney Shannon Corbitt of the Major Offense Unit prosecuted the case.
