Get ready to have less text messages and robocalls from telemarketers!  That is as long as they follow new rules for trying to contact prospective customers.

Beginning October 16th, companies must have prior written consent of those they are trying to reach by text or by phone with an artificial or recorded voice with the intent to sell a product.  Previously, telemarketers were allowed to use these methods with oral consent or an established prior business relationship.
