The drunk driver and the “chaser” are now each charged after a fender-bender at a Queensbury apartment complex.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says there was an accident Thursday night, May 29, around 11:45 p.m. when a car backed into a parked car at the Regency Park Apartments in Queensbury. Right after that, several people called authorities and a man jumped out of the car and started fighting with those callers and Deputies say they when they got there, they found William Weatherwax chasing after one caller.
Weatherwax, 32, of Queensbury was arrested for disorderly conduct but then the discovered that it was his girlfriend, Tina Bowe, 41, of Queensbury who had been driving. After failing several field sobriety tests, Bowe consented to a breath test, which determined her BAC was .15%, according to investigators. She was charged with DWI and unsafe backing, later released to appear in Queensbury Town Court. Weatherwax was also released on an appearance ticket.
The arrests were made by Officers Kevin Conine and Cortney Howse. Members of the New York State Police assisted at the scene.
