Just a few hours after naming former governor David Paterson to head up the state Democratic party, Governor Cuomo has selected former Congresswoman Kathy Hochul to be his running mate this year.

The 55-year-old Hochul served for a couple of years, representing the Buffalo area.  Prior to that, she was the Erie County Clerk.

She's a graduate of Syracuse University, and earned her law degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in Washington.

The current Lieutenant Governor Bob Duffy said a couple of weeks ago that he would not be seeking another term.
