McDonalds employee is charged with robbing the restaurant

Colonie Police say an employee robbed the McDonalds on Osborne Road Monday morning. 

Jose Rivera faces several felony charges after police say he entered the restaurant then struck a female employee in the head with a gun during the robbery. 

Charges are pending against another suspect who police say may have assisted Rivera.

Here is the full statement from Colonie Police:

    The Colonie Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the attempted armed robbery that occurred on Monday 08-04-14 at 5:14am at the McDonalds 256 Osborne Road.  The below profiled defendant was arrested this morning and the BB gun used in the attempted robbery was recovered.  The defendant is the suspect that was armed with the handgun during the robbery and also struck the female employee in the head.  The defendant was an employee of the restaurant at the time of the robbery.  The suspect that stayed by the door during the robbery has been identified and charges are pending.

Defendant:

Jose Rivera Jr. - age 38 - 256 Third Street Apartment #1 Albany, NY

Charges:

Attempted Robbery 2nd (3 counts), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, and Assault 2nd.  All are felonies.
