NY medical marijuana bill clears committee

Posted May 20th, 2014 @ 1:17pm by 810 & 103.1 WGY

The State Senate Health Committee has voted to approve the use of medical marijuana.

The bill now heads to the Finance Committee, and if passes there it will head to the full Senate.

The bill would allow marijuana for the treatment of "serious, debilitating, or life-threatening" illness.

Governor Andrew Cuomo supports a more limited bill, and has not said if he will sign this proposal if it were to get to his desk.
