Raymond Halacy, 19, of Rensselaer, brother of John Halacy, 24, pled guilty to felony burglary in the break-in of a home in Colonie in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving, according to authorities.

Raymond Halacy entered the plea before Judge Stephen Herrick in Albany County Court on Tuesday morning, according to the D.A.’s office. The burglary happened back on November 28, 2013 on Haswell Road in the Town of Colonie. A third alleged co-defendant, Andre Beverly, 18, also broke in and stole guitars, a television and various other electronic items while inside, police said.

Following the burglary, Raymond Halacy and Andre Beverly were caught by the U.S. Marshals in Florida and waived extradition back to New York State. Raymond Halacy faces 2 1/3 to 7 years in State Prison when sentenced on April 8. He remains in custody at the Albany County jail without bail.

Back on March 6, John Halacy, pled guilty to one Count of Attempted Burglary (2nd Degree, Class-D Violent Felony) and faces 5 ½ years in State Prison when he is sentenced April 3.

The case against Beverly remains open and pending at this time, according to the D.A.’s office. Bureau Chief Eric Galarneau of the Major Offense Unit is handling the prosecution of this case.
