A Washington County woman is facing charges for attempting to beat her wife with a rock, according to State Troopers.

Troopers from Greenwich were called to a home in the Town of Jackson on County Route 61 early Wednesday morning, Sept. 3, for a report of an active domestic dispute. Police arrested Jennifer Slater, 34, for attempting to assault her wife with a rock.

Police say they also found Slater had illegally possessed controlled substances and is charged with one misdemeanor count of Attempted Assault (3rd Degree), five misdemeanor counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (7th Degree) and five violations of the Public Health Law for possessing controlled substances outside of their original container, police said in a statement.

Slater was arraigned before Town Justice Baylor in the Town of Salem and sent to the Washington County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash/$5,000 bond bail.
