Governor Andrew Cuomo says federal agents are threatening public safety and the rights of illegal immigrants by conducting raids.
Speaking in Manhattan, Cuomo said ICE is arresting people at a problematic rate and using what he calls illegal tactics. He joined other activists in saying that immigration agents are violating the Constitution and spreading fear.
Cuomo says the issue affects all of New York state, including urban and rural areas. He blasted ICE for allowing itself to become politicized by President Trump's rhetoric that focuses on immigration.
