The former Albany Police Officer who crashed his car twice in the past eight months and left the scene of both accidents learned his fate in court Friday.
Shawn Dixon will have his license suspended for at least six months, pay $900 in fines, and he will be on probation for three years.
Dixon resigned from the Albany Police Department in April. In May of 2017, Dixon's car crashed into another driver and he left the scene. This past December, Dixon crashed into a utility pole and ended up in a ravine in Lincoln Park.
Police later found Dixon on State Street. Police say that Dixon was driving drunk in that accident.
