An Albany Police officer is charged with misdemeanor assault after Nashville Tennessee Police say he assaulted a bar employee at the "Tequila Cowboy" bar in downtown Nashville.
Authorities say that 28-year-old Matthew Seeber was in an area of the bar that he shouldn't have been in. When told by an employee that he should leave, Seeber ignored him, and punched the employee in the head.
The Times Union reports that Seeber was named the department's 'Officer of the Year' in May.
Acting Albany Police Chief Mike Basile says the department is investigating an incident involving an off duty officer this past weekend.
Basile declined to name the officer, but said that the officer has been placed on administrative duties.
