Times Square is usually buzzing with tourists but yesterday, there was another swarm in town. A swarm of bees. A hot dog stand became the temporary home of a large swarm of bees.
A beekeeper for the NYPD vacuumed up the 25,000 bees which according to police came from an overcrowded hive.
The Police Commissioner, James O'Neill said they were being handled "humanely and safely" in a tweet.
While seeing a group of bees that large may be alarming, NYC beekeeper Andrew Cote says honeybees are basically harmless and have no interest in people.
The honeybees have been relocated to Long Island.
