Governor Cuomo and his Republican challenger are going to be squaring off in their first, and likely only debate before the November election.
In a conference call with reporters Monday morning, Republican Marc Molinaro accepted Cuomo's offer of a taped, one-hour debate airing on CBS 2 in New York and WCBS Newsradio 880.
WGY will be airing the debate at 7pm Tuesday, it is being taped earlier in the afternoon.
It will be moderated by WCBS-TV's Marcia Kramer along with WCBS 880's Rich Lamb.
Molinaro accused Cuomo of being reluctant to debate him and said he would embrace the role of underdog, as he trails in the polls.
Cuomo has been taking some heat for remaining silent on debating his opponent and then calling for a last minute radio debate last week.
Libertarian candidate Larry Sharpe, the Green Party's Howie Hawkins and former Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner on the Serve America Movement ticket are on the ballot, but were not invited to participate in the debate.
