President Trump is suggesting a nationally-funded news network may be created to rival CNN. He tweeted Monday afternoon that CNN has the global audience and portrays America in an unflattering light, so the United States should fund another network to challenge CNN and change the American narrative abroad.
The president and the network have had a troubled relationship including the recent ban of their Chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta. A decision that was essentially reversed by a federal judge in a lawsuit filed by CNN.
