Hospital Restrictions Put Into Place As Reported Flu Cases Spike

The prevalence of influenza means visitation restrictions are now in place at many local hospitals.

According to St. Peter's Health Partners, many local hospitals have begun restricting the number of visitors permitted in a patient's room at any one time to just two.

Kids under 12 are prohibited from visiting at all, as well as anyone with a rash, diarrhea, or respiratory infections.

This week, the Health Department announced that the flu is prevalent in New York.

This announcement kicks into effect the regulation that healthcare workers who are not vaccinated, must wear surgical or procedure masks in areas where patients are typically present.
