Troy police have ticketed the driver who struck a 16-year-old girl with a car on 8th st. earlier this week. Police say the person behind the wheel was speeding when they hit a teenage girl on Tuesday night, but investigators also say the fact that the girl was walking in the middle of the street contributed to the accident. And some people who live along 8th are concerned about people going too fast down that street.
The unidentified girl was taken to the hospital with several injuries, but is expected to be okay.
