A local marching band has an opportunity to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day in France. The Albany Marching Falcons have been invited to participate in festivities commemorating the Allied Invasion of northern France this June in Normandy. In addition to marching along Omaha Beach, the students will participate in a wreath laying ceremony and will visit Paris. Director Bryan Cady says approximately $135 thousand dollars needs to be raised to cover the costs for 48 students to travel to France. There is a bottle drive at the Capital Redemption Center on Clinton Ave and several fundraisers in the works. The Albany Fund for Education is also accepting donations for the Falcons.
