Gillette Responds to Controversial Ad

Gillette, the Boston-based shaving company, owned by Procter & Gamble, shared a photo of plus size model Anna O'Brien to their Twitter and sparked outrage among critics who are accusing the company of celebrating morbid obesity.

The post went viral and while some were applauding the body positive ad, it also faced criticism with many body-shaming O'brien. The Company responded saying “Venus is committed to representing beautiful women of all shapes, sizes, and skin types because ALL types of beautiful skin deserve to be shown.”

The ad comes just weeks after their controversial ad featuring toxic masculinity.
