Mental Health First Aid is a relatively new concept. Retired Troy Police Captain John Cooney is spreading the word about how important and life-saving this training can be. In this podcast with Diane Donato, Cooney talks about some of the components of the program, how to overcome any reticence about getting involved, and how widespread the need is in all communities. Just like in traditional first aid training, the goal is to connect people who are struggling with the proper resources in their community.
