The State Department of Health has ordered the immediate shut down of the Crest Inn Suites and Cottages in Wilton. The Health Department says the motel is not sanitary enough for human habitation, the drinking water is unsafe, and signs posted on some of the rooms say the Motel "poses an immediate risk of death to anyone who enters".
The motel is owned by the family of Nauman Hussain. He's the operator of Prestige Limousine, the company that owned the 2001 Ford Excursion stretch limousine that crashed in Schoharie in October 2018, killing 20 people. Nauman Hussain faces 20 counts of manslaughter and 20 counts of criminally negligent homicide and several lawsuits in connection with the crash.
This action comes just days after media reports that Hussain and his family were trying to sell the motel for an asking price of 1 million dollars.
