In day #1 of the public impeachment hearings this week, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and California Democrat Adam Schiff had a tense exchange with NY Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik over transparency. Now in day #2, Schiff completely shut her down when California Republican Devin Nunes yielded his time to her.
The second day of public hearings in the House Democrats' impeachment inquiry is underway. Ousted U.S.-Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch is the featured witness. She was recalled after running afoul of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who was conducting unofficial diplomacy in Ukraine. Earlier this week, a State Department official accused Giuliani of launching a smear campaign against Yovanovitch.
