The Capital Region is mourning the loss of longtime news anchor Ed Dague. He died Sunday morning at the age of 76 following a long illness. Dague spoke to News Channel 13 after his retirement in 2003.
Dague began his broadcasting career in the 1960's, and spent some time at WGY in 1969, but he was best known for his work at channel 6, and then at channel 13 starting in 1984.
Former co-anchor Chris Jansing called him "quite simply, one of the great journalists of our time."
Dague had been battling a degenerative arthritic condition in the years before his death. A public memorial for Dague will be held in the next few weeks, but the exact date hasn't been announced yet.
