The Capital Region's 1st Major Snow Storm of the Season Ends

The Capital Region is still reeling from the impact of the season's first major snowstorm.

The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled. Officially, 22.6 inches of snow fell at the Albany airport, making this the 8th largest storm of all time in Albany and the 4th biggest December snowfall on record at the airport. This is also the most snow in one storm since the March 13-14, 1993 Superstorm.

A snow emergency goes into effect in Albany at 8pm, meaning all vehicles must be parked on the even side of the street. Then at 8pm Wednesday night, vehicles must switch to the odd side. And in Troy, normal parking rules have been suspended. Drivers are asked to place their vehicles on the even side for 24 hours, then switch them to the odd side Wednesday.
