Rain, Sleet and Freezing Rain Sunday Night into Monday

A mix of rain, sleet and freezing rain will impact travel overnight Sunday, Monday morning and possibly Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says some power outages and tree damage are possible due to the ice. Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Snow, sleet and ice accumulations will vary from location to locations due to variations in timing of different precipitation types.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Tuesday for Eastern Schenectady, Eastern Columbia and Southern Saratoga Counties as well as the Hudson Valley from Albany southward, the central and southern Taconics in eastern New York and southern Litchfield County in Connecticut.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 1 PM Tuesday for the western and southern Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, Lake George Saratoga region as well as the Northern Taconics in eastern New York and southern Vermont.

An Ice Storm Warning is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 7 AM Tuesday for Schoharie, Western Schenectady, Western Albany, Western Greene and Western Ulster Counties.

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
