A Cohoes man, accused of manslaughter and assault in the apparent drug overdose of a 6-week-old baby in early December has been released under supervision of probation.
Anthony Ojeda, who has been held in the Albany County jail since his arrest in early December, will have electronic monitoring for 60 days and cannot, by court order, leave Albany County.
He will also have to undergo substance abuse treatment and surrender his passport. he infant, Eli Harmon-Ojeda, died on December 3rd, shortly after ingesting some methamphetamine. Police originally said Ojeda was Eli's biological father, but later said they were looking into the possibility that he bought him from his biological mother.
Ojeda is the latest defendant cleared for release since the state's new bail reform law went into effect on New Year's Day.
