Dress shop settles with Attorney General's office, must provide refunds

Attorney General Letitia James announcing a settlement with a Capital Region dress shop owner following several customer complaints. Apropos Prom and Bridal was accused of refusing to return deposits for customers forced to purchase substitute gowns elsewhere when Apropos failed to deliver on special order dresses, delivering floor models with defects or dresses that were several sizes too large or small. Under the settlement with the AG's office, Apropos will refund deposits to customers that did not receive their dress in time. They are also required to make substantial business practice reforms. Consumers who think they may be eligible for a refund are encouraged to file a complaint online or call 1-800-771-7755 to be mailed a form.
