The man in charge of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency is making a visit to the Rensselaer County Jail today. Acting Director Matthew Albence will be alongside members of law enforcement to talk about the Green Light Law which allows illegal immigrants to apply for a driver's license.
The legislation has been a major topic in Rensselaer County, with both County Executive Steve McLaughlin and County Clerk Frank Merola speaking out against it.
Albence's sppearance comes after the federal government banned New Yorkers from enrolling in Trusted Traveler Programs in apparent retaliation for the Green Light law.
