Troy Police Reclassify Death of 6-Year-Old As a Homicide

There are several new developments in the death of six-year-old Davonte Paul of Troy. Police have reclassified the death of Paul as a homicide. Initial reports were that Davonte Paul drowned in a bath tub. Troy Police now saying that drowning was not the cause of death and that the boy died as a direct result of Hypothermic Shock. His body temperature was 88.3 degrees when he arrived at Samaratin Hospital on February 9th. Davonte remained hospitalized in a coma until his death on Feburary 11th.

Another new development: On February 14th, Pittsfield police responded to reports of an overdose at the Pittsfield Inn. In a room they found Davonte's mother, 31-year-old Nicole Bauer, and her boyfriend, 40-year-old Kevin Cox.

Police say the two formulated a suicide pact and Cox overdosed on a lethal injection of heroin. Cox is in a Massachusetts Hospital in grave condition. A second syringe, also loaded with a lethal dose of Heroin was believed to have been intended for Nicole Bauer.
