As testing ramps up in the state and some hospitals in Upstate New York are being allowed to resume elective surgery, Governor Cuomo spoke briefly at his press conference Wednesday afternoon about a major Capital Region tradition currently up in the air, - whether or not the Saratoga Race Track will be open to the public.
Cuomo categorized the track as "an attractive nuisance" which refers to an attraction that will bring people from all over and overwhelm a region. The Governor said, "you open the Saratoga race track I guarantee you'll have the highest attendance in the history of the Saratoga race track," and that "density is not our friend."
Cuomo compared opening the track to the New York State fair, saying there would have to be a statewide opening for the attractions to operate.
