Local elected officials and business leaders held a news conference outside Crossgates Mall calling on Governor Cuomo to allow the indoor areas of shopping malls to be included in Phase 3 of the state's reopening process.
Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy says its unfair that big-box stores have been open throughout the pandemic.
Currently, businesses in Crossgates Mall that have exterior entrances are allowed to operate in-store activities.
Those at today's event stress that state guidance has been unclear and that small businesses continue to suffer deep economic impacts.
Phase 3 of reopening the Capital Region is expected to begin Wednesday, June 17th.
