Schenectady Little League had been hit by vandals in March and the property was left in bad shape with the concession stand and main league offices left severely damaged. A GoFundMe page has raised over $2,500 (more than double the goal) and now a former player and Princeton’s assistant baseball coach Alex Jurczynski returned to the field to donate some equipment.
Jurczynski held an equipment drive to supplement the GoFundMe donations. Among the donations Schenectady Little League has received is a security system.
The Tik Tok app is helping a woman in Baltimore with random acts of kindness. She started a "Venmo challenge" where people donate to her Venmo account and she will use the money to leave a ridiculously large tip for servers.
In her most recent challenge, followers donated $648 to her Venmo. She left it all for a waitress at the Cheesecake Factory who is pregnant and says she could really use the extra money. This is the 5th time the Tik Toker has done this challenge and she hopes to continue. If you'd like to follow her and see her challenges, her username is Lexy Lately.
And finally, on Friday, the State Department of Health announced that nursing homes and long term care facilities will be allowed to resume limited visitations for facilities that have been without COVID-19 for at least 28 days. Residents are allowed two visitors at a time, and the visitors must undergo temperature checks, wear face coverings and socially distance during the visit.
