Following an uptick in violence in New York City, Governor Cuomo says he has declined President Trump's offer to send federal officers to the city.
Governor Cuomo says that if the situation continues to escalate the state will handle it.
Cuomo also said that President Trump agreed that no action would be taken in New York without a discussion between the two.
This comes after police in riot gear cleared out about 70 protesters early this morning from a Black Lives Matter encampment in City Hall park.
The protestors had been there for about a month.
