Movie Theater Chains Want Gov. Cuomo to Let Them Reopen Again

The CEOs of the largest movie theater chains in the world are pleading with Governor Cuomo to let them reopen in parts of the state with low COVID infection rates.

In a letter, they argue that if Cuomo doesn't let them reopen, they won't survive. The letter was signed by a dozen theater CEOs, including those of AMC, Cineworld and Cineplex. They say the New York market is so influential to the movie businesses, that many movie studios are opting to hold off on releasing movies until theaters are open again. The CEOs say their theaters are not as dangerous as indoor dining because people are quiet as they watch a movie.
