For the first time in months, movie theaters in the Empire State will welcome back customers Friday.
Cinemas outside of New York City and other coronavirus hotspots can reopen, but there will be health and safety guidelines in place to prevent people from being exposed to germs. They include capacity limits and new filtration systems that theaters have had to install. Masks will also be required but not when people are seated to eat or drink.
