Looks like there is a resolution to the arrest in Schenectady of Yugeshwar Gaindarpersaud.
Several months ago, Schenectady Police moved in to arrest him on a complaint from a neighbor that he slashed her tires. He ran from a police officer, and a video recorded by the suspects father, showed Schenectady Police officer Brian Pommer kneeling on Gaindarpersaud's head. He and his father say Pommer also kneeled on the younger Gaindarpersaud's neck. The Schenectady County DA's office has agreed to drop the criminal mischief charge on the slashed tires incident, and a resisting arrest charge will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for six months. The video of Officer Pommer's actions during the arrest sparked protests . And a statement from Schenectady Police says disciplinary charges have been issued to Pommer.
