For the third time this month, the number of new coronavirus cases has hit another record in the Capital Region.
The eight counties that make up the area announced a total of 271 new infections Monday, breaking the previous high of 218 just last week. Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties also had their largest one-day increases since the start of the pandemic. The number of hospitalizations is also rising again and now sits at 126.
