Troy Police Car Struck by Gunfire

Troy Police are investigating a shots fired incident that left a bullet hole in one of their cop cars.

Police say an officer was on his rounds in his unit and heard a loud noise just after midnight on Peoples Avenue near 10th Street.

Shortly after that, a call for shots fired came in and more officers arrived on scene. Police discovered the officer's car was struck by a bullet on the drivers side by the back door. Police also found bullet casings on the ground near Eagle and 10th Streets.

Police say the officer was not hurt. No victims or suspects were located.

Police say it's not clear at this time if the officer or the vehicle was the intended target of the shooting. Police are still investigating.
