The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly put a spotlight on vaccine research and manufacturing. Right here in the Capital Region we have the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET) where students will learn about the research and manufacturing of drugs and vaccines. For the uninitiated, ACPHS president Dr. Greg Dewey and CBET Associate Director Dr. Julian Rosenberg both explain biopharmaceuticals, discussing how they have been used previously and their current use in developing COVID-19 vaccines. While biopharmaceuticals are changing lives, researchers and manufacturers are dealing with a shortage of trained professionals here in the US. With state-of-the-art labs and programs, CBET is changing that.
