Hospitals across the Capital Region are taking steps to keep beds open as the number of coronavirus cases rise.
Some medical facilities have started to limit the number of non-urgent surgeries being performed to make sure there's enough room for COVID-19 patients. Should the spread of the virus worsen, those procedures could be canceled and put on hold until further notice. As of Monday, only 27 % of intensive care beds in the area were open, a 15 % drop from the week before.
