Happy Hour: Nursing Home Staff Sing Valentine’s Day Greetings for Residents

Spectrum News has a story about a local vet who is loved in his community. Now when he is having a tough time, his community is there for him. Dr. Keith Clement has been a vet at Burnt Hills Veterinary for over 30 years. Earlier this year he contracted COVID and at the beginning of February he was admitted to Albany Med. His colleagues started a GoFundMe page which has raised over $46,000 for Dr. Clement. One of the co-owners of the practice, Dr. Emily Falls says the overwhelming response is really a testament to all of the lives he has touched. Falls said. “When you are a veterinarian, you don’t just care for animals. You care for those owners, as well.” A few days ago Dr. Clement was able to go home, but his recovery is expected to still take a few weeks.

The staff at North Westchester Restorative Therapy and Nursing Center sang of love this Valentine’s Day and it was all for the benefit of the residents who have been isolated from their loved ones for so long.

Staff performed singing Valentine’s Day greetings for residents sent from spouses and families, highlighting their favorite love songs.

The event proved to be uplifting for both the residents and the staff.
