Nursing homes in New York are now required to offer the COVID vaccine to all residents and staff by April 29th or within two-weeks of a new hire or admission.
Anyone who opts out has to sign paperwork and facilities that don't comply face fines of up to $ 2000 per violation. Critics of the new Health Department guidelines say they don't take into account the challenges facilities will face adhering to the rules including almost half of all nursing homes workers afraid to get the vaccine.
