New York State's representation in Congress will be a bit smaller thanks to the results of the 2020 Census.
Right now, the Empire State has 27 Congressional Districts, but that number will be dropping to 26 starting in 2022 due to the new population data. Had 89 more residents been counted, the state would've kept its current number of seats on Capitol Hill. New York is also going to lose a vote in the Electoral College, which is used to decide who becomes President of the United States.
