A new report says aides to Governor Cuomo are preventing the number of nursing home deaths in the pandemic from being released.
The New York Times says aides spent months hiding the death toll, including repeatedly preventing state health officials from releasing the numbers. The actions allegedly took place at the same time Cuomo was pitching and then writing a book on the pandemic. Critics of Cuomo had complained that COVID nursing home patients, who were transferred to hospitals and then passed away, were not counted as nursing home deaths.
