For the first time since 2019, an arena football game will be played at the Times Union Center this weekend.
The Albany Empire of the National Arena League are set to take on the Columbus Lions at the Downtown Albany arena on Saturday night. Fans will be allowed to watch the game in-person, but attendance is being limited due to the state's COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Everyone in attendance will have to prove they've tested negative for coronavirus or have been vaccinated against it before being allowed inside the arena.
