A task force is finding the controversial order from Governor Cuomo's administration to admit COVID patients to New York nursing homes caused more deaths and should have been reversed sooner.
The New York State Bar Association Task Force found the Health Department directive caused hundreds, if not more than a thousand, deaths of nursing home residents. The DOH has denied that, claiming the six weeks it was in effect starting March 25th of last year had no impact. The Task Force said otherwise in a report obtained by the New York Post. It also blasted Cuomo for not reversing the DOH mandate sooner.
